Loc'dandFree Natural Hair Salon was founded in 2011 as a premium educational salon after I decided to do away with chemically treating my hair and embrace my natural curls.

After wearing my hair in its loose natural state for a short period, I excitedly plunged into the next phase of exploring locks. From the time my Sisterlocks were established, I immediately felt the true sense of self-love, pride, confidence and ultimately freedom hence the term “Loc’dandFree”.

With my background in the entertainment industry, I have seen how wearing the right hairstyle can bring a creative piece to life.

I truly believe we can experience freedom in every sense of the word once we shift our perspective from the limitations of hair and self care to embracing the liberation our curls and textures provide.

For this reason and more, I constantly find ways to equip myself with the proper education and chance to grow in the natural hair industry and community so I can better provide the right service and knowledge to each client by nurturing their hair to reach its full potential.

As continuing education is at the very core of what I believe for us to stay informed to maintain a healthy hair and scalp, I am an AMCA Board Certified Trichologist and Hair Loss Practitioner. I am fully licensed to help clients who are experiencing hair loss grow their hair back while identifying some scalp disorders and restoring healthy scalp to produce healthy hair.

My love for haircare has existed for as long as I can remember. Learning to care for our natural tresses, whether loose or locked, has definitely been a fulfilling journey. Watching the changes our curls go through from one state to another, is a constant reminder of how beautifully unique we all are.

It is our mission as a premium natural hair salon to provide every woman, man and child who walk through our doors to leave our establishment feeling empowered, beautiful, educated and internally and externally satisfied. We work with a team of knowledgeable stylists who are well versed in the craft of caring for the hair and scalp. We strive to use top of the line natural hair products that are safe and universal to care for your curls, leaving your hair feeling healthy and strong.

Sisterlocks

Sisterlocks is a trademark company founded in the early 1990’s by Dr. JoAnne Cornwell. This came as a result of her desire to wear her natural hair in small, style-able locks. Once she was satisfied with her creation, she wanted to share it with women, men and children who were searching for a way to wear their hair that was both natural and affirming.

The Home Office is in San Diego, California, and there are trained practitioners and Certified Training Associates in over 30 other states. The company has developed an innovative approach to marketing its natural hair care system to African American women.
